I just want everyone to know even if you flash your LMM Duramax back to stock it is 100% detectable by GM AND THEY WILL VOID FUTUE WARRANY DUE TO A FLASH IN THE COUNTER SYSTEM even on minor issues that is unless Diablo Has figured out a way around this on the LMM

It's a computer system man. If you know what your looking for and give the Dealership a reason to dive that deep into the system they can probably find out how many times you have farted in the drivers seat. But the average driver that takes their truck in for minor problems the Dealerships aren't gonna look for tuners that may or may not have been installed.

This argument has been going on for years now and to this day I have never seen any proof that says Dealerships can find traces of a tuner or a re-flash.

....yup.

No worries for DiabloSport users....cant say the same if using our competitors products...

max, please elaborate on why you post this stuff here. What brand tuner were you using? If you were not using a diablosport branded tuner, I am not sure why you were here claiming that all tuners are detectable and then tacking on a mickey mouse caveat about "unless diablo has figured out a way around this on the LMM".

Please Refer to GMVIS

Attention: In order to =rocess an engine/transmission/drivetrain WARRANTY CLAIM, you MUST photograph =he required Tech 2® screen information BEFORE removing engine/transmission/drivetrain components from the vehicle.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This bulletin is being revised to update the calibration =erification instruction content and Contact procedure information. Please discard =orporate Bulletin Number 08-06-04-006E (Section 06 - Engine/Propulsion =ystem).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

General Motors is identifying an increasing number of engine, =ransmission, diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and exhaust particulate filter failures =hat are the result of non-GM ( aftermarket Power-up Kits ) engine and transmission control calibrations being used. When alteration to the =M-released engine or transmission control calibrations occurs, it subjects =owertrain and driveline components such as the engine , transmission, transfer case, driveshaft and rear axle to stresses that were not tested by General =otors. It is because of these unknown stresses, and the potential to alter =eliability, durability and emissions performance, that GM has adopted a policy to =ancel any remaining warranty coverage to the powertrain and driveline components =henever the presence of a non-GM calibration is confirmed - even if the non-GM =ontrol module calibration is subsequently removed.

Warranty coverage is based on the equipment and calibrations that =ere released on the vehicle at time of sale, or subsequently updated by GM. =hat’s because GM testing and validation matches the calibration to a host of =riteria that is essential to assure reliability, durability and emissions =erformance over the life of the warranty coverage and beyond. Stresses resulting =rom calibrations different than those tested and released by GM can damage =r weaken components, leading to poor performance and or shortened life. =dditionally, non-GM issued engine control modifications do not meet the same =missions performance standards as GM issued calibrations. Depending on state =tatutes, individuals who install engine control module calibrations that put the =ehicle outside the parameters of emissions certification standards may be =ubject to fines and/or penalties.

This bulletin outlines procedures to identify the presence of non-GM (aftermarket) calibrations. GM recommends performing this check whenever = hard part failure is seen on internal engine or transmission components, and before an engine assembly or transmission assembly is being =eplaced under warranty. It is also recommended that the engine calibration =erification procedure be performed whenever diagnostics indicate that the diesel =xidation catalyst (DOC) needs replacement.

Note: Beginning on September 1, 2009 =efore authorizing any Duramax® diesel engine replacement, the PQC will =equire digital photographs of the following Tech 2® screens:

• The Calibration ID Numbers and Verification Numbers =rom the Vehicle Information/Programming History screen.

• The Transmission Data screen containing the Max Transmission Calc Engine Torque =arameter.

Symptoms Caused by Aftermarket Power-up Kit
• Some customers may have reprogrammed the engine =ontrol module (ECM) with a non-GM released calibration. The Power-Up Kit =ngine calibration changes fueling and timing parameters and likely =ontributes to the following vehicle =onditions:

• Poor performance

• Driveability =oncerns

• Increased emissions

• Black smoke (This symptom is not valid for the =uramax® diesel engine RPO LMM equipped with the exhaust particulate =ilter. The filter will trap black smoke unless it is cracked, melted or has =een removed from the exhaust system.)

• Knocking noise

• Engine damage (Refer to Corporate Bulletin Number 06-06-01-007C, for additional =nformation.)

•Go to TIS2WEB
•Select: Calibration Information (SPS Info)
•Enter the VIN
•Select: Get Cal ID
•Select: ECM Engine Control Module
•Select: Next
•Select: Complete History
•Print
•Take the printout to the vehicle along with the Tech =®
•Plug in the Tech 2®
•Go to diagnostics and build the vehicle
•Select: Powertrain
•Select: Engine
•*Select: Engine Control Module
•*Select: Module ID Information or I/M Information System =f Module ID Information selection is not available.
•*If: I/M Information System was selected in step 15, it =ay be necessary to select: Vehicle Information in order to display the =alibration information.
*Steps may vary by engine controller.

•Compare the Calibration ID and Calibration Verification =umber (CVN) to the CVN shown on the TIS2WEB printout. Although the part =umbers will be the same for each, it is the CVN that will determine if the =alibration is GM issued. The CVNs should be the same.
⇒ If the CVN information is displayed as =EM>"N/A" , it will be necessary to contact the TCSC to obtain the CVN =nformation.

⇒ If the part numbers match and ANY CVNs DO =OT match the printout, it is likely that a non-GM certified =alibration has been installed.

⇒ If ALL of the CVNs are EXACTLY =he same the calibration is GM issued.

•Take clear digital picture(s) of the Tech 2® Vehicle =nformation screen(s) showing the VIN, the Calibration IDs and the CVNs =Programming History Calibration ID and Verification Numbers). Retain the printout information and the Tech 2® screen photographs with the repair =rder.
18.1. E-mail copies of the digital pictures to tacsnapshot@gm.com. In the subject line of the E-mail include =he phrase "Duramax® diesel", the complete VIN and Dealer BAC. In the =ody of the E-mail include the VIN, mileage, R.O. number and BAC.

18.2. Allow two hours for the PQC to verify the =alibrations and set up the case details.

18.3. You may call the PQC two hours after submitting =he required information for authorization to replace the assembly. =his will provide them time to receive, review the information and =et up a case on the request. Be prepared to provide all of the usual documentation that is normally required when requesting an =ssembly authorization from the PQC. =/TD>

2007-2010 RPO LMM Instructions for Confirming Calibration =erification Numbers (CVNs) -- Power-up Kit Detection
Important: In order to process an engine/transmission/drivetrain WARRANTY CLAIM , you =EM>MUST photograph the required Tech 2® screen information BEFORE =emoving the engine/transmission/drivetrain components from the vehicle.

For 2007-2010 applications, an engine control module (ECM) algorithm =as implemented that records the engine calibration part number and =alibration verification number (CVN) for the last 10 flash programming events. The =CM records the engine calibration part number because it contains the =arameters for increasing torque and fueling rates.

If a vehicle comes in for service for a driveability/powertrain =oncern as a result of a Power-Up Kit installation, the dealership technician can =ead the last 10 engine calibration part numbers and CVN history using a Tech =®.

The dealership technician will input each ECM calibration part number =nto the TIS2WEB/SPS CVN database to confirm the CVN history information. =efer to the following Tech 2® path table to verify the ECM =alibrations.

•Build the vehicle with the Tech 2®.
•Select F0: Engine Control Module.
•Select F5: Module Identification Information.
•Select F1: Programming History.
•Turn On the ignition, with the engine Off.
•Press the ENTER Key to Continue.
Important: An original production =ngine operation part number programmed in the ECM from the supplier, which =s the last part number shown, would not be in the TIS2WEB/SPS database. =/FONT>

•Record the Calibration ID Numbers and Verification =umbers from the Tech 2® Vehicle Information/Programming History Screen. If the =ist of Calibration Part Numbers is less than 10, the first Calibration ID =umber (bottom of the list) will not be in TIS2WEB/SPS CVN database. In this =ase, the first Calibration ID Number is programmed at the ECM production =actory and is reprogrammed at the vehicle assembly plant.
•From TIS2WEB/SPS, record the Calibration Part Number into =he CVN Database. Get the CVN.
⇒ If the CVN DOES NOT MATCH the CVN =atabase, an unauthorized engine calibration part WAS PROGRAMMED =nto the ECM.

⇒ If the CVN MATCHES the CVN database, the = calibration/s are GM issued and an unauthorized engine =alibration part WAS NOT used.

9.1. Take a clear digital picture of the Transmission =ata screen that contains the Max Transmission Calc Engine Torque =arameter. The path table is outlined in the following Instructions for =ech 2 Transmission Data Path section. Retain the Tech 2® =ransmission Data screen photograph with the repair =rder.

9.3. Allow two hours for the PQC to verify the =alibrations and set up the case details.

9.4. You may call the PQC two hours after submitting =he required information for authorization to replace the assembly. =his will provide them time to receive, review the information and =et up a case on the request. Be prepared to provide all of the usual documentation that is normally required when requesting an =ssembly authorization from the PQC. =/TD>

That is old news. The Predator does not change any of the values mentioned in that bulletin and therefore will not show with a history printout. Of course you must restore the stock settings (original backup) before going back into the dealer.

I do like the pre-LMM black smoke part. What a bunch of crap, all diesels without a dpf have black smoke on the tail pipe.
